Survey of saltmarsh for proposed bridge development. Gwynedd county council

Sue on SaltmarshSaltmarsh, mudflat and sandflat surveys were undertaken in 2008 for a proposed bridge development in North Wales.

Saltmarsh, mudflat and sandflat surveys were undertaken in 2008 for a proposed bridge development at Pont Briwet, Penrhyndeudraeth in North Wales. Surveys were undertaken utilising skills of our associate, saltmarsh specialist Sue Brown. Saltmarshes were classified using JNCC National Vegetation Classification and intertidal biotopes with the JNCC marine habitat classification. Species of conservation interest searched for during both the walkover and quadrat surveys included: Eleocharis parvula, Dwarf Spike-rush (nationally rare), Juncus acutus, Sharp Rush (nationally scarce), and Limosella australis, Welsh Mudwort (nationally rare).
