Survey of saltmarsh for proposed bridge
development. Gwynedd county council
mudflat and sandflat surveys were undertaken in 2008 for a proposed
bridge development in North Wales.
Saltmarsh, mudflat and sandflat surveys were undertaken in 2008 for
a proposed bridge development at Pont Briwet, Penrhyndeudraeth in
North Wales. Surveys were undertaken utilising skills of
our associate, saltmarsh specialist Sue Brown. Saltmarshes were
classified using JNCC National Vegetation Classification and
intertidal biotopes with the JNCC marine habitat classification.
Species of conservation interest searched for during both the
walkover and quadrat surveys included: Eleocharis parvula,
Dwarf Spike-rush (nationally rare), Juncus acutus, Sharp Rush
(nationally scarce), and Limosella australis, Welsh Mudwort
